Merchant fee calculator

Check your rate against ours.

Every time a customer pays by card, your bank takes a cut. The Network has negotiated a group merchant rate for members. Put in one month of your card statement to check your rate against ours and see what it could save you over a year. It takes about three minutes.

Start with one card statement

Your bank or card provider emails you a merchant statement every month. It shows your card sales and the fees you were charged. Find the latest one in your email, save the PDF attachment, and upload it here. Any recent month will do.

Have your other bills handy tooYour merchant statement usually only shows your card fees. Eftpos terminal rental and the Worldline or Paymark network fee normally come on separate bills. You will need those amounts on the next screen.

PDF files only. Your statement stays on your device. It is read in your own browser and never uploaded.

Cannot find it? Search your email for merchant statement. If you do not get one, ask your bank or card provider to start emailing it to you each month.

Your month

Check these against your statement. Use the amounts before GST.

These next two are usually not on your merchant statementEftpos terminal rental is billed by your terminal company, and the network fee by Worldline or Paymark. Check those bills or your bank account. If you leave them at $0 when you actually pay them, your saving will look smaller than it really is.

Two quick questions about your business

These help us turn one month into a fair year.

How much does your business change with the seasons?

Over a whole year, how many of your customers pay with an overseas card?

Where should we send your estimate?

Your saving shows on the next screen, and we send a copy to the Network so we can help you with the next step. We receive the figures from this check and the details below. Never your statement.

This is an estimate, not a quote. Your real saving depends on the exact cards your customers use and on your current contract.

How we got this number.

We worked out the busy and quiet months from a full year of real card trading at local Greymouth businesses.

Larger businesses, with card sales over about $2 million a year, may be able to get a lower rate than the one used here.
